Police chasing prostitutes around Suva

Prostitutes either male or female must be having a tough time earning bucks due to the recent Public Emergency Regulation around Fiji.

Recently while mucking around the Gladstone Street in Suva with friends around 10pm I noticed the policemen loading all these prostitutes in their vehicle and “most probably” taking them to the Police Station.

The policemen seemed to be really enjoying chasing them around the city – if only they had chased some criminals with such intensity, we could have been a crime free country to some extend by now.

I rest my case for the Commissioner of Police to figure it out.

But it is certainly something good the police force has been doing.

Before I used to frequently bump into many of these prostitutes but now the street seems to be free of these 'irritating girls and gays' as many are now been encountered in the Police Stations.

  3. Hay Ravs what do you think may be the contributing factor to this problem of prostitution?

From a sociological, I think It is something to do with the stricture of society. For instance, the fact that modernity brought onto our shores foreign perspectives, thus creating a new way of thinking that may lead to such practices. Just a bit of explanation....but it's great to discus such issues, isn't it?...
